Last night, AWEP (Alabama Wedding and Event Professionals) had our monthly meeting at Fun Source Rentals in Pinson, Alabama.
We decided to make this meeting a fundraiser and picked Cystic Fibrosis as the charity. One of the many rides and attractions at Fun Source is their Dunking Booth. So, into the dunking booth I go to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.
We raised $400 just by dunking me. Sometimes, the president of an organization just has to take a dunking for a good cause.

Yesterday afternoon I photographed the Evers kids in the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
It was a typical august afternoon in Alabama, hot and humid. Through the heat and rumbling of thunder the kids were troopers. They let me march them through the Gardens and photograph them.

Friday afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing Rachael and Kerri of 2 Hearts Wedding Planning.
It was hot, no really I mean really really hot. Both Rachael and Kerri were troopers thru the whole portrait process.
Rachael owns and runs 2 Hearts Wedding Planning and is assisted by Kerri. It was a pleasure to photograph these two and it’s even nicer to work a wedding with them. Oh, by the way, Kerri is a Barry C Altmark Photography bride

There comes a time when a business owner needs a wonderful Executive Portrait to hang on the wall and use for headshots.
Well, it just so happens that here at Barry C Altmark Photography, Executive Portraits are one of my specialties. Last week, I photographed Jim with Vision Research. Jim and his staff couldn’t have been nicer.

I had the pleasure of photographing Tarah this afternoon.

Today I found out that I’ve been accepted to two more art shows this fall.
So, that brings me up to three for this fall so far. Midtown Atlanta Arts Festival September 24-26, Bluff Park Art Show October 3 and Great Gulf Coast Art Show in Pensacola on November 5-7.
Oh boy!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. Me, I was working away. First I dropped Julie off in Pensacola to play with her folks and then I went to work in New Orleans.
It was a hot and wet weekend in New Orleans. All my photo shoots were outside which means at the mercy of the weather. I did learn a very important lesson this trip, peddle around the city on my bicycle. Parking the truck is impossible and walking with all my equipment just isn’t an option. My bike and I made quite the team.
After New Orleans, I came back to Pensacola for some photos which were almost all rained out. Being stubborn has it’s benefits at times and I waited out the rain on Pensacola Beach and got some great film.
We also witnessed the clean up crews and the oil spill. Every time you hear BP complaining about the cost of the clean up, please just give them a middle finger salute. This spill is going to mar our ecosystem for at least a generation.

Check out the brand new July edition of Birmingham Magazine page 114 for the Beautiful People Party spread with my wonderful photos.

My scooter came home from the scooter doctor (Magic City Motor Scooters) this afternoon.
All is right with the world
